It was founded since September 23 1889 in Kyoto, Japan. They first marketed a playing card game called Hanafuda, it became popular which Yamauchi hired more assistants to mass-produce the cards. 1929, it passed to Yamauchi's son-in-law, Sekiryo Kaneda. 1949, Kaneda passed it to his grandson, Hiroshi Yamauchi and Nintendo adopted Nintendo Karuta Co., Ltd.
Kids in the United States had not had interest on their products as they start losing money. So Yamauchi needed help to one of his employees, Shigeru Miyamoto since he had any time on his hands. He was asked to create an arcade game that will turn into a best-selling game. He thought of Donkey Kong. Until it went to North America, it became a best-selling product.
